With great excitement we noted that many visitors found their way to our booth at MEDICA this year. Counting 46 000 visitors (with an international share of 73 percent) from 150 countries it was a very good event, despite the limitations of the pandemic. Many appointments with customers were possible, various delegations attended our booth and many interesting new contacts were made during this event, which we shared with our partner company TROKAMED. Meeting partners in person and important conversations took place in a very positive atmosphere. Many promising meetings took place, which will contribute to a positive business performance. The presentation of new Product Highlights was a main focus, particularly the new EndoorTower LUMI_NIR (ICG/Fluorescense) was one of the main attractions. Also a lot of interest was generated by the brand new articulating and rotatable laparoscopic instruments. Highly efficient aircleaning units of AirSentry, flexible fiberscopes for Urology, the 5 fr. modular and rotatable hysteroscopy instruments or the “Enjoystitch” suture simulator were successfully presented. Even though this years’ success seemed uncertain, we can confirm now at the end of the fair: “It was worth to be there!” THANKS to the TONTARRA- and TROKAMED-Team and our partners from IMM and Airsentry! Due to the air cleaning which we placed at the booth, the masks could even be taken off for the short foto shooting.

It is with pleasure that we can report that a fresh booth design and an ideal location in hall 10 have attracted a large number of visitors this year! Our booth was packed with visitors every single day of the fair and we were of course delighted about the high level of interest. We presented to our customers and visitors - maybe you were among them – a good selection of our wide product portfolio. Especially new products, like the Endoor Tower received very positive response. This confirms to us that the high quality criteria are recognized and appreciated, leading to an increased interest in the market. Also the pumps and insufflators, which are now available in the new Endoor-Design, are part of this new line. A further highlight are our sterile monopolar Laparoscopy instruments. The pleasing haptics and quality, but especially an attractive pricing, enables us to participate successfully in this highly profitable market.

Although the information is still relatively new, it´s already spreading around Medica Fair in Düsseldorf on Monday and Tuesday: the Wurmlingen based MedTech Company TONTARRA has extended its executive management by one position. Since this month, Frank Klaus Mattes is mainly in charge of Marketing and Sales in the commercial section. With Mattes, the 130-employee strong manufacturer of surgical instruments and medical devices has recruited an experienced professional. The 47-years old is around MedTech for 27 years, of which he spent 17 years as Managing Director of the Tuttlingen based MedTech Company KLS Martin in the Netherlands. During this period he had built-up the company site in the Netherlands as well as over five years the KLS Martin site in the UK. As business-unit-manager, he was responsible for big parts of Europe and Canada for the last three years. Now the change from KLS Martin to TONTARRA. “Two years ago, after celebrating 25 years of employment, I was looking for new challenges”, says Mattes. The intensive talks with TONTARRA have been ongoing for about one year, until he joined company owner Thomas Tontarra (production, research and development) and Alberto Petrella (commercial sector) as part of the executive management in November.  Thomas Tontarra confirmed that his company had not broadcasted the news actively so far. Growing success since the turn of the millennium „TONTARRA has experienced phenomenal growth beginning from the year 2000”, Mattes emphasized. The challenge is now to figure out how to continue this growth. The new managing director points out: “We want to continue this dynamic development."
